A chronic shortage of healthcare workers in Uganda necessitates that hospitalized patients be cared for by untrained and ill-equipped family members referred to as "Patient Attendants" or "Informal Caregivers."
Good Gaali uses the power of the bicycle to bring God's love to the Patient Attendants at Kabale Regional Referral Hospital (KRRH) through training, provision of basic tools and necessities, and, of course, the Word of God.
Basic skills and important information needed to better care for hospitalized loved ones more effectively
Critical supplies needed to do the job of patient care such as soap, hand sanitizer, masks, toilet paper, and a staple food item
Our team prays with the Patient Attendants and shares the good news of the gospel - God's love in a tough place
The simple act of teaching the Patient Attendants about their newfound responsibilities and giving them the tools they need to do their job shows them that they are loved and valued and pushes out fear, frustration, and despair. This helps them to do a better job of caring for their loved ones in very difficult circumstances.
Prayer is a key part of what we do and how we do it! We pray WITH the Attendants and their patients... We pray FOR them. Please join us in praying for the work we are doing at KRRH and pray for the health and safety of our team. Subscribe to our monthly newsletter to find out how you can join Team Good Gaali in prayer.
